Written and performed by Eleanor Wikstrom, for the UN 75th Anniversary

“Inheritance” written and performed by Eleanor Wikstrom, Vice Youth Poet Laureate of Oakland, filmed at Herbst Theater in San Francisco. As part of the commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, the General Assembly held a mandated meeting to observe UN Day. The observance ceremony, as mandated by General Assembly resolution 73/299, highlighted UN voices from the field and insiders’ perspectives of the UN’s work and the future of the organization.

Due to strict mandates dictated by the COVID pandemic, the film was conceptualized, filmed, and edited entirely in-house. Staff at the Herbst Theatre assisted with location logistics, in order to realize Tim's direction and Eleanor's words, performed whilst standing in the very spot the UN charter had been signed 75 years earlier, with famous film from the 1945 moment in history projected around the present day auditorium.
